Top Universities in Illinois

Illinois has some of the very best national universities in the US. According to the US News & World Report rankings, five Illinois universities are placed at Tier 1 with three rated in the Top 40 nationally: University of Chicago is ranked 8th nationally in 2009, followed by Northwestern University (12th), University of Illinois--Urbana-Champaign (40th), Illinois Institute of Technology (102nd)
